Hello, I’m Carolyn Butterworth. As a lifelong resident of East Gwillimbury, I have a vested interest in our community.  As a retired educator, I have a 32-year investment in the education of the children of York Region.

Not only did I attend school locally, Sharon Public School and Huron Heights Secondary School in Newmarket, but I have also taught in many schools in the York Region District School Board.  I was actively involved in school life during my teaching career, focusing on a variety of school clubs and school improvement initiatives.  I have also raised two children in the York Region District School Board system so I feel I can represent many perspectives based on my personal experiences. What I bring to this role is heart, compassion and dedication, as a citizen, a mother, and an educator.
